Born and raised in PA Dutch country, FARMER TROY is a Marine Corps combat veteran, has retired from 28 years in public education, and has now gone back to his farming roots.
My boy FINN, a blue healer mix that is the inspiration for Finnlandia’s name. Growing up in my small backyard in Phoenixville, he didn’t have much room to run. That all changed when we got our homestead.
Led by our Alpha, big SALLY, who we rescued earlier this year, our small Nigerian goat herd features brother and sister duo: ELEANOR & RIGBY and THE wonder Twins: ZAN and JAYNA.
They love to eat the wild berry stalks and anything alfalfa. Eleanor and Jayna both sport blue eyes and Rigby is polled.
Featured in the Barnyard, are our barn cats: LOIS, CLARK, & LUTHER as well as some rescue kitties. We also feature our duck ensemble: MR. & MRS. CAYUGA, and MOXIE, the Indian Runner.
Our flock of girls consists of a medley of Rhode Island Reds, Ameracaunas, Andalusians, Copper Marians, and True Blues.
They are pastured and eat organic feed to produce nice dark yolked eggs in shells of various shades of blue, green, olive, and brown.
Rogers, Buck Rogers, is my ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf buck. He is a very handsome young man with a great goatee, blue eyes, and is polled. Sally's three kids born in the spring of 2025 were sired by Rogers and were beautiful and healthy.
Jack and Chrissy are my peacocks. They hatched in spring of 2023. Jack is just starting to grow his train, and has been dancing for Chrissy, but Chrissy is generally more interested in talking to the chickens...
